Visit from The Bear's

Brian's sister Liz from San Francisco comes to visit every summer. We had a great time with them.

Outing....

The weather has been great and we haven't been up into the mountains much this summer. We headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon to let the kids run around and climb on the rocks. They had a great time.

10 years later....

Really, I can't believe it has been 10 years since I graduated from high school. Jill and I went to the reunion together and had a great time.
I may still think of myself as 18...but 2 kids later...I certainly don't look it. All in all everyone looked great...there were no total shockers.

Man trip...

Brian went backpacking with two of his friends from our ward at the end of July. We only got pictures of them before they left because the pictures they took while on the trip were questionable in ratings........

Are you concerned about their safety, cause we were???




While they were away the wives spent the night in Park City. We had a great time, but sadly didn't take any pictures. We went shopping, had a great dinner, went hot tubing and just enjoyed a quiet night without the kiddos.

Best Buds....

Leila and Isaac make quite a pair. They love to play with each other and have never fought or hurt each other. I feel very lucky, as I know that isn't always the case. Leila is very patient with Isaac and Isaac's face lights up when she wakes up in the morning.
I will have to make them read this post in about 12 years!!!

Leila loves to give Isaac his bottle....I know, I know bottle at 15 months...but the doctor recommend we keep him on it until after his surgery and we are so glad that we did. He loves it. We are now in the process of getting him off it completely.
I love that he is almost as big as she is.

School

Leila started her second year of preschool. She has a great time and school and I am so glad that she loves it. Two of her little friends are going with her this year. They seem to all be having a good time.

She is growing up so fast. She will be 4 in a few months.

Pineview

We had a great time at our annual family trip to Pineview. The water and weather were great.

They loved to tube all by themselves. They would just sit out there and chat the entire time. It was really cute.

I am not sure why I try to take picture when the boat is moving...maybe it is because it is the only time they are sitting down.

Isaac

Well, as many of you know Isaac has had a rough year. Nothing major, but he was basically constantly sick. I started keeping a journal of how often he got sick and he never went longer then 10 days and that was usually when he was on antibiotics. So, after many visits with the pediatrician, allergists and an ENT we decided that he needed his tonsils out. He has already had tubes put in his ears and his adenoids out...with minor change.
He was scheduled for surgery August 10th. Of course for 2 weeks prior he had diarrhea and then about 2 days before started to get a pretty nasty cold. We were sure if they would still do the surgery by THANKFULLY after evaluating him they decided that he should be okay.
We headed up to Primary's in the afternoon on the 10th, he was a champ and did so good considering he couldn't eat anything the whole morning. The surgery lasted about 30 minutes, the surgeon said his tonsils were "huge" so all in all, his surgery was a success.

The recovery was long. Basically 2 whole weeks of not really eating or sleeping well. He was on Loratab every 4 hours...but we are so glad it is all behind us and we are optimistic for a fairly healthly fall and winter.

My mom came to help relieve us. Our kids have a really hard time coming out of anesthesia, so it was nice that one of us could leave and get some fresh air.
