Leila Update

Well, Leila's surgery went well. She had a rough time coming out of anesthesia, about 2 hours of uncontrollable crying, thrashing, basically hating us and the entire world. Once she calmed down we had a LONG night at the hospital. None of us could sleep well, so we ended up coming home at 4:00am.
The last few days she has been cranky, sore and tired. All of which are completely understandable. After today, the surgeon says she should be on a uphill swing, so we are keeping our fingers crossed.
Below are some pictures before the surgery. It was too hectic to get pictures at the hospital after the surgery, plus I am pretty sure that we all looked completely haggard!
I am very glad this is all over with. I do have to give a shout out to Brian. He has been AMAZING throughout this whole process. I couldn't have done it without him.

The pre-op waiting room was pretty cool. She loved all the cool toys.



This cute nurse (aka..child life specialists) came over to help "calm" Leila. Leila was already very calm, so they just played dolls!



Leila had just received her "happy drink" to relax her. All the kids are pulled around in these cute wagons. She thought that was pretty cool, even though she was on her way to the OR. She had no problem saying good-bye to us. She was pretty out of it by that point.

Well, I am sad to say that Leila has to get her tonsils out today. The biggest bummer of all is that because she has to spent the night, her surgery isn't until 5:00pm. That means nothing to eat since 9:00 am! The poor little thing is hungry, but she is doing very well.
I will give a progress report tomorrow as to how the surgery went.

Minature Golfing

Over Easter Weekend, it was so beautiful outside that we decided to go mini-golfing. This was the first time Leila had been. She wasn't really interested in actually hitting the ball, but she loved picking up all of our golf balls for us.

Leila thought this was Cinderella's Castle...we really need to take her to Disneyland.



The sunglasses are her new favorite item. She wears them ALL the time.

Happy Easter!!

We had a great day!!! I hope that everyone else did too. I just love Leila's Easter dress. I am stuffed with good food and A LOT of sweets. Most of you know that I am addicted to sweets, but today may have done me in. That would be a good thing!


We went to an Easter Egg Hunt at the park on Saturday morning and Leila actually sat on the Easter Bunny's lap. That is a first for this shy little girl!!!



They had face painting too, Leila looks like a pretty cute bunny.

Park City

This past weekend my cousin and her husband were in town. They were staying at Chaz and Tawnya's new house, so Brian and I decided to stay in Park City. One of the many perks of my job is the occasional free hotel rooms.
We stayed at a great, new property The Newpark Resort. We spent the weekend swimming, hot tubing, eating and a little site seeing.
The girls had a great time together.


The girls loved playing in Leila's make-shift bed/ closet.



We had our own hot tub on the deck of our hotel room. It was GREAT!!!



These were cute moose hats..but they were a little big and kept falling off.

Labor and Delivery...wait I am only 24 weeks!!!

Yes, it is true. I have had to go to Labor and Delivery 2 times in the last 2 weeks. I have been having contractions....not the little Braxton Hicks, but full on contractions every 3 minutes for a minute a piece.
Trip #1: March 6th. I had been contracting all day, they were progressively getting worse and pretty painful. When I called my OB's office they told me to go straight in. Sure enough, they were as plain as day on the monitors. Luckily, I wasn't dilating. They watched me for a few hours, gave me a shot to stop the contractions and then sent me home with orders to "take it easy"
Trip #2: March 11th. I cleaned my house and about 30 minutes after vacuuming, they started again. Harder this time. Once again I was told to go to L&D. Once again, there they were on the monitor. After a shot of Morphine (apparently a smooth muscle relaxer to relax my uterus) in the rump, I was released with the same orders.
I followed up with my doctor. They don't know why this is happening, but are relieved that I am not dilating. I am now taking it really easy and trying to rest more. Hopefully this little man will stay put for at least 10 more weeks!!! Holy moly.
